Chlorine, a pool sanitizer, should be kept between 1.5ppm and 2.5ppm. Otherwise, algae may start growing below 1.5ppm and you risk wrinkling vinyl liner pools if your chlorine is greater than 2.5ppm.

Over time, falling debris, sunscreen oil, and dust accumulate in vinyl liner pools. Clean your pool at the water line to remove any stains or residue. Remember that oil, vinyl, and sun exposure isn't the best combination for vinyl liner pools. Make sure that you only use cleaners that are specifically designed to clean vinyl liner pools. Abrasive cleaning tools may bleach the lining, destroying it. Sharp objects should also not be used as these can puncture vinyl lining tools.

Covering your pool helps in prolonging vinyl liner pools. It prevents dirt, dust and other debris from falling in it and it also protects it from ultraviolet rays coming from the sun. However, remember to let vinyl liner pools "breathe" by taking off its pool cover every 24 hours. Failing to do so enable the buildup of chemicals, this is also not good for your pool or your swimmers.
